January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring January's Stamp of the Month, which is "True Friends," a set of 11 stamps.

If you have come here from Kathleen's Blog, you are on the right path! When you reach the end of my post you will continue hopping along from the link posted for you.

This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

For my card creation, I used the cardmaker's how-to recipe book, "Wishes" cardmaking how-to program and followed the pattern called, Gallery. The how-to programs from Close to My Heart are such great time-savers for me. The programs really do make my projects come together: "Faster. Simpler. Easier."

And the stockings were hung...

by the new entertainment center with care...

Here you can see the gorgeous new oak entertainment center that my talented sweetie designed and made:

Since we do not have a chimney from which to hang stockings, our entertainment center has served that purpose for about 20 years. This year was our first chance to move to this new entertainment center. DH finished it just a few days ago. It perfectly houses our new Sony t.v. and Blu-ray set up too.

We have enjoying breaking everything in over that last few evenings with showings of "Star Trek," the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and our first Blu-ray showing was "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Wow! It's been decadently entertaining!

Here is what the Christmas tree looked like on Christmas Eve complete with gifts:

As you can see, our dog, Ben, is keeping an eye on things, especially his new bones!

My Christmas Wish

I am still working on my Christmas cards, so for now, this will have to do. My family and friends should know that I am indeed thinking of you as I remember the blessings of this past year.

I've seen some lovely easel cards that I have admired. So, my goal for my Christmas card was to design one myself. That being said, the many steps involved in what you see here means my cards didn't hit the post office when I would have liked. However, I am quite pleased with what I settled on for the final card design.

The first image you see is the card as it is meant to be displayed. Then, the second image, just above, is how it arrives in a standard envelope. Below, I wanted to show that the easel is created by scoring the front of the card base at 2.25 inches. The card front is then attached only to the 2.25 portion you have once folded at the scored line.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is adhered with foam tape. The added dimension acts as a door stop to allow the easel card to stand. The back of the card features a stamp in the Made with Love stamp set that I just love. What a nice way to sign your work and let folks know how special they are too.

Project Supplies
:
Stamp: C1289 Warm Memories, D1166 Vintage Christmas, D1388 Card Chatter - Christmas, D1384 Snow Flurries, and D1387 Made with Love
Paper: X5802 Holiday Creative Basics
Cardstock: Colonial White, Ponderosa Pine, Cranberry, and Bamboo
Inks: Ponderosa Pine, Cranberry, Desert Sand, Moonstruck, Crystal Blue, and Garden Green
Embellishments: Ponderosa Pine Organdy Ribbon
Tools: Sponge, Sponge Dauber, Micro-Tip Scissors, Euro Paper Trimmer, Embossing Stylus, Bone Folder, Glue Dots, and 3-D Foam Tape

May all your Christmas wishes come true on this sacred day of love and celebration.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas - Scrapper's Version

My husband and his family have a yummy family tradition that involves these delicious date-filled cookies that they call "Hump Ups." Here you can see my husband making these scrumptious creations. He is an awesome baker! These cookies are such a treat with a cold glass of milk.

Below is our Christmas tree for this year. Each year we alternate between my grandma's artificial tree I inherited which is older than I am, and a fresh-cut tree, as was my husband's family's tradition. This year, as you can see, it's a fresh tree complete with many, many falling needles! LOL This is the biggest tree we've ever had and it even required a new tree stand to accommodate this big, thirsty beauty:

And, to give you a laugh, here is my altered version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas":

The Scrapbookers' Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the home,
Only one creature was stirring,
A late night scrapper alone.

While she cropped and she trimmed,
Under her breath she was muttering,
"He hid my darn Glue Dots",
The poor wife was stuttering!

When out on the lawn,
There arose such a clatter,
She sprang from her table,
And dropped her paper cutter.

Away to the window
She flew like a flash
Thinking maybe it was UPS
Bringing more Close to My Heart goodies for her stash!

But what to her wondering eyes
Should appear
But a miniature die-cut sleigh
And eight stamped reindeer!

With a little old driver
So lively and quick
She knew right away
It must be St. Nick

He carried a sack
Filled up to the brim
With paper packs, cardstock
And My Acrylix stamps crammed in.

There were buttons and brads
And paper flowers galore
There was even a Cricut font
Not yet in the stores!

He went quickly to work
Storing it all under the tree
The ribbon, the fibers
And all acid-free!

"Those Fiskar punches are heavy"
She heard him exclaim
Then he turned to his reindeer
And called them by name:

"On Buyer and Stasher
Puncher and Cropper,
On Scrapper, on Stamper,
On Trimmer, On Cutter"

And he sprang to his sleigh
But before he could leave,
The woman yelled "WAIT",
And pulled a camera from her sleeve.

She snapped some quick pics
For future keepsake,
Thinking all the while,
Of the layout she'd make!

And she heard him exclaim,
When she finally let him go,
"Happy Scrapping to All"
And to all "HO HO HO"

Simple Christmas Cards for Kids

For the third year in a row, I taught a Christmas card workshop for some local girl scouts. What a joy it is to watch what creative geniuses these girls are when the creativity starts!

Here are the simple cards I designed for them to do:

This first card pairs the stamp set, D1383 Santa's List with the really fun "Animal Cookies" paper pack. I tried to create cards that gave the girls the chance to do some coloring and boy, did that pay off! They really did such great work with that.

This second card uses D1226 Magical Season and D1374 Ms. Holiday Cheer with our "Jingle" paper pack. I added some fun sparkly gems too. The girls just gushed about the "blingage!"

Card number 3 (shown above) again features D1383 Santa's List with a retired paper pack called "Hollydays." Isn't Santa so jolly?

For the final card we made, I used D1382 Holiday Hoopla with a retired stamp set C1089 Christmas Heaven and another retired paper pack, "Just Chillin'." This last card was inspired from my friend and very talented fellow Close to My Heart consultant, Shannon. Thanks, Shannon!

I hope you are finding ways to sneak some Christmas joy into your busy days.

Let it stop, Let it stop, Let it stop...

Okay, so you saw my pics that I took on my birthday on Sunday.

Well, it seems that wasn't enough snow, because here is what we woke to today:

Needless to say we have our first official "Snow Day" of the year. And, as if that wasn't enough snow, there is even more wintry weather predicted for the next day or so.

And here is our sweet, old dog, Ben is trying to help with the plowing again:

We have plans for enjoying some "Frosty the Snowman" this afternoon with some hot tea. Enjoy your day, whatever the weather may be.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

This was the view from our front door on Sunday. It was beautiful, especially from indoors! LOL

It took my hubby quite some time to get the drive and entryways cleared. You can also see where our 13-year-old dog "plowed" the snow too. He's such a good old dog!

Since it was my birthday I enjoyed a rather lazy day watching him work and doing not much of anything. My family treated me to a special day with delicious cake, a lovely card, and a brand new Ott light for my craft table too.

Enjoy our blessings at this beautiful time of year!

It's a Holiday Heyday for You, Me, and Everyone on Your Shopping List!

Really exciting news was released Monday afternoon from the fabulous folks in the corporate office for Close to My Heart:

Get Ready for a Holiday Heyday With Our Online Clearance Sale!

Get all your holiday shopping done in one spot this year with our online clearance sale! Many items are 50% off, with some discounted as much as 80% off regular retail. The selection is incredible, too!

Customer shopping begins Wednesday, December 2, at 11 a.m. eastern and continues through Thursday, December 17 (11:59 p.m. MT) or while product supplies last!***

Here are all the important details:

• I have the list of items available for sale posted here for you to print and get your shopping list prepared for Wednesday. You can find pictures of these great deals in your past issues of our Idea Book. Call or e-mail me if you need some additonal help.

• Sale has quantities restricted to FIVE per item to provide a smooth shopping experience for all customers.

• Serious shipping savings apply with minimum orders: orders of $100+ = flat rate shipping of just $5 ($99.99 and under have weight-based shipping). Wahoo!

• Note that clearance items may not be combined with regular-priced items in a single shopping cart, and clearance purchases are not eligible for any Constant Campaign qualification or Stamp of the Month.

Here is some additional information you may find helpful too:

How does a customer order the items?

They simply add their desired clearance items to their MyCTMH shopping cart, just as they would when they purchase any item through MyCTMH. Note, however, that clearance items and regular items cannot be purchased on the same order. If your customer wants to purchase both clearance items and regular-priced MyCTMH items, they need to place two separate orders. A special clearance sale link will be available on the MyCTMH shopping page during the campaign just for this purpose; only clearance items will appear in the clearance shopping area and only regular-priced items will appear in the usual MyCTMH shopping area.

How will a customer access the clearance sale on MyCTMH?

When a customer selects the “Shop Online” link on your MyCTMH website during the clearance sale, they will be able to select the clearance sale link from the navigational items listed on the left of the shopping page. Or, if you have set your anchor image for your MyCTMH site to the default corporate image, your customers can click directly on the image and be taken to the sale items. It is that easy!

Can a customer purchase non-clearance sale items on the same order as clearance sale items?
No. Non-clearance sale or regular-priced items cannot be mixed with clearance sale items on the same order. If the customer would like to shop for both they need to complete two separate orders.

When will products that are ordered as part of the clearance sale ship to my customers?

Normal shipping in-house turnaround times will be extended on clearance sale items from 5-7 business days to 7-10 business days. This slight delay in shipping time allows us to give priority to orders placed for regular-priced items such as Home Gathering Orders, Individual Orders, EZ Invite shopping orders, and MyCTMH regular-priced orders.

Is there an “As Is” policy for this sale?

Yes. All items that are part of the MyCTMH online clearance sale will be sold “as is.” We have taken into account that a few of the products for the sale may not include all of the original items sold with the product and we have discounted the item accordingly. All products are still the same high quality. In addition, clearance sale items do not come with a replacement guarantee.

Now go! Have some fun and make it a Holiday Heyday to remember!

For photos of the sale products please visit my website and click on the link for shopping the clearance sale.

December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring December's Stamp of the Month, which is "Notice the Details," a set of 41 stamps.

If you have come here from Wendy's Blog, you are on the right path! When you reach the end of my post you will continue hopping along from the link posted for you.

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's Stamp of the Month and other great Close to My Heart products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

For my card creation, I used the cardmaker's how-to recipe book, "Wishes" cardmaking how-to program and followed the pattern called, Sentiment Secured. The how-to programs from Close to My Heart are such great time-savers for me. The programs really do make my projects come together: "Faster. Simpler. Easier."

Project Supplies:
Stamp: D1378 Notice the Details, December's Stamp of the Month
Paper: Twitterpated Level 2 paper packet
Cardstock: Colonial White Cardstock and Chocolate Textured Cardstock
Inks: Chocolate, Sorbet, and Crystal Blue
Embellishments: Pewter Rectangle Photo Clips from the Pewter Mini-Medley Accents Collection and Colonial White Crocheted Ribbon from the Colonial White Designer Ribbon Rounds
Tools: "Wishes" how-to book, Sponge Daubers, Micro-Tip Scissors, Edge Distresser, Sea Sponge Tool, Sanding Block, Paper Piercer, and 3-D Foam Tape

From this image below, you can see all of the 41 stamp images including in this stamp set. Imagine all the possibilities for cardmaking and scrapbooking!

Remember, the December stamp of the month is only available until December 31st! Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount or even free!

When visiting my website: http://LovetoStamp.myctmh.com you can also find great Close to My Heart scrapbooking and stamping supplies anytime you want, 24/7.
