June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring June's Stamp of the Month, which is "D1422 Wonderful Friend," a set of 9 stamps.

If you have come here from Adeline's Blog, you are on the right path! When you reach the end of my post you will continue hopping along from the link posted for you.

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's Stamp of the Month and other great Close to My Heart products on their blogs. Hopping along with us is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

For my card creation, I used the cardmaker's how-to recipe book, "Originals" cardmaking how-to program and followed the pattern called, Pretty Simple. The how-to programs from Close to My Heart are such great time-savers for me. The programs really do make my projects come together: "Faster. Simpler. Easier."

Project Supplies:
Stamps: D1422 Wonderful Friend, June's Stamp of the Month
Paper: Passages Level 2 paper packet
Cardstock: Cocoa CS and Colonial White CS
Inks: Cocoa, Desert Sand, and Garden Green
Embellishments: Pewter Brads and Desert Sand Re-inker
Tools: "Originals" how-to book, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper Piercer, 1" Flat Paint Brush (from Distressing Kit), Circle Punches, and 3-D Foam Squares

I am a distressing addict and loved the effect I got on my card by using the 1" Flat Paint Brush dipped in Desert Sand Re-inker to paint all the edges of my pieces of papers.  Since the re-inker is water-based it dried super fast too!  I thought it fit the flavor of the Passages papers and the Wonderful Friend stamp set too.

From this image below, you can see all of the 9 stamp images included in this stamp set. As you can see, there are many great uses for this set! This set can be a nice addition to both your cardmaking and scrapbooking bag of tricks, whether for a Father's Day card or just about any masculine birthday card or layouts. In the month of June, you can earn at a discount or even FREE! Ask me how!

Remember, the June stamp of the month is only available until June 30th! Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount or even free!

When visiting my website: http://LovetoStamp.myctmh.com you can also find great Close to My Heart scrapbooking and stamping supplies anytime you want, 24/7.

Now "Hop" on over to Katy's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to see some great artwork!

The full list of everyone who will be participating this month and links to their blogs, if you need help hopping along with us, can be found in my prior post.

Thank you for hopping along with me!

Preview to Jackpot June

You are not going to believe this! Do you remember the fabulous Deal-a-Day promotion from last June? Well, it's back and even better!

Here is a preview of the month-long fun with Jackpot June coming your way, including some campaign basics:

Dates: June 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM – July 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM (eastern time zone)

Featured Products: A huge variety of Close To My Heart products at great discounts or even FREE!

In June, take advantage of a different deal each day only on my website: http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com.

Click on the Jackpot June link to see each day's deal. Each day will either be a Jackpot day or a Goodie Box day. Deals will run for 23 hours: from 11:00 am (EDT) to 10:00 am (EDT) the following day, while supplies last. (The hour between 10:00 am and 11:00 am will be used to prepare for the next deal.)

On Jackpot days, 5 products will be offered for sale at special discounted prices. On each Jackpot day, we've selected one of the 5 products to be the Jackpot item for that day, but you won't know which one it is (isn't it exciting!).

If you happen to order the Jackpot item, lucky you! We'll reward you with a fabulous Close To My Heart jackpot, which may be one FREE product or a bundle of several FREE products! For those of you who aren't risk-takers, you'll want to purchase all 5 items to guarantee you'll hit the Jackpot!

If you purchase multiple quantities of the Jackpot item, you'll receive multiple products FREE. So, buy as many as you'd like of each item—there's no limit—and you could be a big winner!

The free items will be featured on the Jackpot June shopping page, alongside the 5 discounted products. We'll send your FREE items with the products you've ordered—and we'll pay the shipping/handling for your free items! Special shipping is offered on the discounted products you purchase: just $0.99 for each item.
So, how do you know if you've hit the Jackpot? Each day we'll announce what the Jackpot item was for the previous day on www.facebook.com/closetomyheart and at www.closetomyheart.com.

On Goodie Box days, you will be able to purchase a Goodie Box filled with wonderful Close To My Heart products at 50% or more off retail value. The Goodie Box contents will vary by day (we're not revealing specifics but you'll be thrilled!) and will include favorite current and retired stamp sets, paper packets, embellishments, and other great scrapbooking, stamping, and cardmaking items.

We have made every effort to differentiate the Goodie Box offerings by date so you can purchase boxes on different dates and receive a wide variety of products. The prices of the boxes will vary but each will be at least 50% off retail value. The higher the box price, the greater your savings from the original retail value. We're also offering discounted shipping.

Important Notes: In order to give shoppers the best possible deal on products and shipping, Jackpot June purchases must include ONLY Jackpot June items (the Goodie Box or the discounted items) and nothing else. This will streamline the shipment of orders and is also how we’re able to offer discounted shipping for this exciting promotion. This means:
* On Goodie Box days, only one Goodie Box and no other items may be checked out in a single transaction.
* On Jackpot days, only the discounted items may be checked out in one transaction; no limit on discounted items per transaction.

Hopefully this information will help you to understand these important qualifications so you can take full advantage of the great deals and incredible shipping discounts associated with this promotion. Customers wishing to make regular-priced purchases on my website may still do so, but they are not eligible for the Jackpot June discounted products, free items, Goodie Boxes, or discounted shipping.

Please contact me with any questions at:  lovetostamp@myctmh.com

Be sure to check my website every day in June to see how you can save money and fill your crafting supply needs at terrific savings!  http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com

Studio J and the new Splash Zone

I made a fun discovery this week. With the launch of the Summer 2010 Idea Book also came a 5th paper pack, exclusive to Studio J and the online design studio layouts. Of course I had to play with the new papers right away! LOL

The name, "Splash Zone" immediately made me think of our family vacation to Disney in August of 2008, during the visit of Tropical Storm Fay. Needless to say, we spent our vacation in a "Splash Zone" up until the last day of our stay, when we had one sunshiny day at the Magic Kingdom.

In these photos, you see us on our first night at our resort, Fort Wilderness, where we rented a cabin, big enough for the six of us.  We went to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.  You can see us standing in line outside, waiting for our front row table.  What an adventure!

This layout took me about 15 minutes to complete.  An absolute record for me!  Studio J makes scrapbooking a piece of cake!

Want to try it for yourself?  Click here to come and play with Studio J.

Hot Diggity! It's the Puddle Pad Technique and Glitz Glitter Glue, too!

Have you see the new Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog?   It's a fun blog to visit if you love all things Close to My Heart for stamping, cardmaking, and scrapbooking. I have found some wonderful artwork and inspiration there each and every week.  This is a new blog sponsored and created by Independent Consultants for Close to My Heart.  All of the challenges are posted on Monday mornings with the deadline to enter each week on Sunday at 10:00 pm EST. There are prizes too!  Woo Hoo!

Here is my card for this week's technique challenge:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: C1407 Hot Diggity and D1421 Cherish the Moment, May Stamp of the Month
Paper: Splendor Level 2 paper packet
Cardstock: Moonstruck CS and Colonial White CS
Inks: Topiary, Moonstruck, and Goldrush
Embellishments: Topiary, Moonstruck, and Goldrush re-inkers, plus Stardust Glitz Glitter Glue
Tools: "Wishes" how-to book, Micro-Tip Scissors, Edge Distresser, Sponges, and 3-D Foam Tape

The technique I wanted to share is the Puddle Pad Technique which you can see on the adorable stamped butterfly from the new Hot Diggity stamp set.  I demonstrated this at my 12-hour crop in honor of National Scrapbooking Month this past Saturday.  I think the card and the technique were both hits.

To do the Puddle Pad Technique, you start with about 5 baby wipes and place them in a stack on a non-porous surface, like your My Acrylix Block.  I used my 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 block and it was the perfect size.

Next you add re-inkers in colors to coordinate with your project in the amount and pattern desired.  I used Topiary, Moonstruck, and Goldrush re-inkers that match the pretty new Splendor Level 2 paper pack, used for this card.  For the butterfly image I used about 10 drops of each re-inker in stripes about 1/2" wide to make a rectangular block of re-inker big enough to ink my butterfly stamp.

Ink up your image into the Puddle Pad and stamp away.  Voila!  You have some gorgeous tie-dye butterfly images to create your pretty projects.

You are welcome to browse my website for the supplies mentioned here and shop 24/7 without every leaving your home.  Visit at:  http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com

Hurry over and check out the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog and see more great artwork with Close to My Heart supplies!

Cherry-O Layout Workshop

Well, I had a marvelous Mother's Day weekend!  On Saturday, I enjoyed a full day of fun with some awesome friends at my National Scrapbooking Month 12-hour Crop.  We were all "Queen for a day" and truly enjoyed a day of scrapbooking and cardmaking together.

On Sunday, we had a family brunch that was such a treat.  I had all four of my kiddos home to give me some Mother's Day love.  I was in heaven.  On top of all of that, we had a family celebration of my sweet girl's upcoming 17th birthday.  What a lovely lady she has become!

The weather was beautiful for our day of celebration.  What a rollercoaster from the snow we woke up to on Saturday!  LOL

Looking ahead to the next layout workshop I am teaching, you can see a peek at one of the 2-page layouts we will do.  In addition, we will finish four more pages.  So, at the end of our afternoon of fun, you will have completed 6 cute pages.  I have four spots left for this workshop being held on June 13th, so please RSVP soon to reserve you spot and order your choice of the Basic, Better, or Best Cherry-O kit.

Live Inspired, Dream with Possibility

Live Inspired and Passages 6" x 6" card:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: C1408 My Acrylix® Live Inspired
Paper: X7126B Passages Level 2 Paper Packet
Cardstock: Barn Red CS, Brown Bag CS, Cocoa CS, and Colonial White CS
Inks: Barn Red, Brown Bag, and Desert Sand
Embellishments: Z1243 Mini-Medley Accents™ Pewter Collection
Tools: "Originals" how-to book, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper Piercer, Embossing Stylus, and Sanding Kit

This is my current favorite creation I made for one of my five pieces for my swap contribution.  Every new Idea Book, three fellow consultants and I each take one of the new paper packs and some coordinating stamp sets and embellishments so we all have some great samples to share ideas with our friends and customers.

In case you didn't know I love to distress my cards and layouts, so I had a great time making this card.  For the card recipe, I used the "Button Trio" design from the Originals cardmaking how-to book by Jeanette Lynton.  Love, love, love all of my how-to design books by Jeanette!!!

I hope my swap group buddies enjoy this card and my others as much as I was thrilled when I received their amazing pieces.  I will be sharing some of my other swap pieces in the coming days.

Right now I am back to prepping for my fun crop I am hosting on Saturday in celebration of National Scrapbooking Month.  I have goody bags and make & take projects to be made.  Can't wait for our full day of fun to begin!
