Merry Christmas to you!

I am including in today's post a Christmas card for you. This is one I have sent out as our family's card with the traditional letter updating all on the happenings with our family. My husband likes to tease me that he's sure they are never read. Personally, I enjoy reading the ones that we receive each year from family and friends.

Project Supplies:
Stamps: D1480 Snowflakes
Paper: X7146B Wonderland Level 2 Paper Packet
Cardstock: Chocolate, Lilac Mist, Spring Iris, and White Daisy
Inks: Chocolate, Grey Flannel, Lilac Mist, and Spring Iris
Embellishments: Z1104 Clear Sparkles
Tools: "Wishes" how-to book, Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (exclusively from Close to My Heart), Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge Dauber, Paper Piercing Tool, and 3-D foam squares

I must share that I was inspired by Allisa's card she posted on her blog.  I love her great work!  Thanks, Allisa!  Also, the card layout came from Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

The Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge was such a wonderful timesaver for me in creating close to 100 cards.  I was so thankful to be able to make a card with so many layers and shapes with the help of my Cricut and this terrific cartridge.  You can get your own by heading over to my site if you would like to enjoy this cartridge for yourself.

Right now I am settling in at home to enjoy the arrival of all of our children to celebrate Christmas.  I hope you are also excitedly anticipating your own beautiful Christmas!

Time to Let It Snow!

So, I will be the first to admit that I have been enjoying the milder weather.  However, we are getting awfully close to Christmas with no snow here.  I'd say it must be time for the snow to begin in earnest.  In keeping with that thought, here is another of my cards I created for my Christmas card workshop:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: C1468 Winter Joy
Paper: X7146B Wonderland Level 2 Paper Packet
Cardstock: Chocolate, Crystal Blue, and White Daisy
Inks: Chocolate and Twilight
Embellishments: Z1220 Twinkle Brads
Tools: "Wishes" how-to book, Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge Dauber, Paper Piercing Tool, and 3-D foam squares

I've been counting down the days until the big changes take effect in my little corner of the world.  Friday is my last day in my current position at work. Then I have two weeks off before I begin my Master's degree program.  During that time I get to enjoy time with the kids all home for a visit.  Wonderful times are coming up soon!

In case you haven't already heard, I am thrilled to share some joyful news for this month:  I received the news that I have been accepted into a Master's degree program.  How exciting is that?!?  Thanks to my friends who supported me and prayed with me during this time of making a big decision to go for it.  I am grateful for your support.

So Sweet

Last weekend I taught my 5th annual Christmas card workshop.  Over the next few weeks I'll be posting the cards we created.  I used the Wishes cardmaking program and one of the three card workshop templates.  I created 20 cards from just a few sheets of patterned paper, cardstock, and card bases.

Project Supplies:
Stamps: C1479 Wonderland Workshops on the Go exclusive stamp set
Paper: X7146B Wonderland Level 2 Paper Packet
Cardstock: Colonial White, Chocolate, and Crystal Blue

Embellishments: NEW Dark Chocolate Striped Grograin Ribbon, Colonial White Edge Anchors, and Liquid Applique
Tools: "Wishes" how-to book, Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge Dauber, Paper Piercing Tool, and 3-D foam squares

Isn't this a fun card?!  I used Liquid Applique for the "whipped cream" and it gave this great look once I used my embossing heat gun to heat up the Liquid Applique.

Wishing you all a "So Sweet" sort of a week!

On a Personal Note: Diary of Freshman Year Move In

It's been a busy week for our household.  Our oldest daughter is getting ready to start her freshman year at college.  We spent three days packing her up, moving her in, stocking her dorm room, and heading, reluctantly, back home.

Here are a few pictures of our adventure.  I must say that moving our daughter seemed to be as busy and involved as did moving our twin boys to two separate colleges five years ago!  LOL

Here's how the big event went for the Ross family:

The "Oh Mom!" face upon arrival to her dorm
The girls "supervise" while the boys take measurements
The hub of activity awaiting that organizational touch
Our trip to Office Max because she "needed" more dorm room furnishings

Little sis "supervising" the tie down efforts
Rebekah, Rachel, and Adam waiting on David for another trip back to the dorm
The whole crew putting on the finishing touches
Last, but not least, the acquisition of dorm food
Whew!  That was a busy adventure!

And, if you can believe it, some things were still forgotten and I have already sent out my first official care package to our girl yesterday.  Thank goodness we will be seeing her again in just three weeks.  We'll see just how much more stuff she "needs" by then!

Best wishes to all of you gearing up for your own back-to-school adventures!
