April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring "Blessed"

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring April's Stamp of the Month, which is "D1455 Blessed," a set of elegant images and sentiments great for both cards and pages too just in time for Easter cards or perhaps sympathy cards too!

If you have come here from Kristie's blog, you are on the right path! When you reach the end of my post you will continue hopping along from the link posted for you.

We have another amazing group of Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's Stamp of the Month and other great Close to My Heart products on their blogs. Hopping along with us is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

Once you finish hopping along, go take a look at the online Idea Book on my Close to My Heart website:  http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com.  Then, let me know if you need your own copy of this great new Idea Book or you can place an online order for any of the great scrapbooking and stamping supplies featured in our blog hop.

This is my project for our hop, a 6" x 6" card based on the Background Bar pattern from the "Originals" cardmaking how-to pattern book from Close to My Heart's own Jeanette Lynton:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: D1455 Blessed, April's Stamp of the Month
Paper: X7132B Blessed Level 2 paper packet
Cardstock: Chocolate, Juniper, Sorbet, and Colonial White
Inks:  Chocolate, Sorbet, and Juniper
Embellishments: Z1358 Chocolate Buttons from the Basic Button Assortment, Z1081 Colonial White Waxy Flax, and Sorbet stitched ribbon
Tools: "Originals" how-to books, Micro-Tip Scissors, Edge Distresser, 3-D Foam Tape, Glue Dots, Sponge Daubers, and Paper Piercer

I used the two-step stamping technique with this pretty stamp set.  There are some nice choices in the Blessed stamp set to let you try your own hand with two-step stamping.  Imagine the possibilities!  Yet another great set for our stamp of the month blog hop.  Just look at the images you have to play with:

Now hop on over to Laurie's blog to see her lovely contribution to our hop. Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to see some more great artwork!

Please visit my website to order your own items to create some fun artwork with the April Stamp of the Month.  Also, here's a heads up that April's campaign from Close to My Heart, "Lovin' Level 1" gives you the choice of a FREE Level 1 scrapbook kit FREE with the purchase of $100 or more from my website.  Remember too that you can get some very nice deals in the "While Supplies Last" section of my website.  Contact me via e-mail if you would like some help with placing your order:  lovetostamp.myctmh.com

Close to My Heart News: Hope For Japan

The following news was just released today via Jeanette Lynton's blog and is quoted below:

"We've all been reeling with the images of tragedy and devastation in Japan. If you're looking for an easy, real, practical way to help relief efforts, then I invite you to contact your Close To My Heart Consultant!

Typically, our A-sized sets retail for $7.95/$8.95 CAN, but the "Hope for Japan" set will be available through April 30 for just $5--and Close To My Heart will be donating 100% of the profits to the American Red Cross to benefit relief efforts in Japan.

If we all do a little, together we can do a lot. Let's show our support and together, provide real HOPE for Japan!"

Here are the beautifully designed images included in the "Hope" stamp set:

This is such an appropriate design, in my opinion, as our hearts go out to those devastated by the earthquake and tsunami and we do wish for continued hope for recovery to the people of Japan.

If you would like to join me and Close to My Heart is helping people of Japan with the American Red Cross in their relief efforts, please contact me at:  lovetostamp@myctmh.com and I can help you place your order for one or more of the Hope stamp sets.

Thank you, Jeanette, for giving us the opportunity to make a difference!

The Fanfare Continues: Summer Time

Let's just say that I am dreaming of Summer Time when the living is easy AND WARM! LOL This is March 22nd and we are under a Winter Weather Advisory here in Michigan. Seriously?!? I know. I know. It's Michigan, what am I expecting? A little sunshine and no more snow, to be completely honest.

So, enough of the complaining rant about the weather.  It could be worse. Here is a look at another of the layouts I will be teaching on Sunday to my scrapbooking class:

Project Supplies:
Paper: X7138B Fanfare Level 2 paper packet featured in the G1021 Fanfare Workshops on the Go Kit
Cardstock: Black, Cranberry and White Daisy
Embellishments: Z7138C Fanfare Level 2 My Stickease, Z1385 Blue Collection Designer Ribbon, and Z1400 Fanfare Level 2 Assortment Decorative Brads
Tools: "Magic" how-to books, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper Piercer, and Glue Dots

Now, if I could just have some good luck with my sorting through photos!  I am working on our oldest daughters pages.  She graduates in June.  I am wishing I had had a digital camera back when she was little because my photography skills were sorely lacking back in the day.  I was notorious for the photos where someone's head was cut off in our photos.  Thank goodness for digital and photo-editing software!  Such a better quality of photos to choose from as our kids got older!

Happy Tuesday to you all!

By Request: Fanfare "Summer Fun"

Every month for the close to four years now, I've been teaching a scrapbooking workshop to some amazing ladies. With the help of Close to My Heart, who continues to make it "Faster. Simpler. Easier." to get beautiful pages made every single month, I get to play with the best in clear My Acrylix stamps, beautiful papers, and wonderful embellishments. In the fall of 2008, CTMH introduced their "Workshops on the Go" program that I have incorporated into my workshops ever since then.

In a week I will be teaching the Fanfare Workshops on the Go scrapbooking workshop. You can see the main layout featured in the kit, which includes a full-color instruction brochure:

Isn't this an adorable design?  I love the Artwork Department at Close to My Heart who really know their stuff!  Beautiful every time!

In addition to the above layout, I will have 4 more layouts for us to create, for a grand total of 10 terrific pages completed in an afternoon.

Below is the 5th layout that will round out our scrapbooking adventure.  The pattern is courtesy of the "Magic" scrapbooking how-to pattern book by Jeanette Lynton, founder and CEO of Close to My Heart.  Here is my take on Fanfare and the Lovely Assistant pattern found on page 96, entitled "Summer FUN":

Project Supplies:
Stamps: E1018 Pennant Alphabet and E1011 Homestead Alphabet
Paper: X7138B Fanfare Level 2 paper packet featured in the G1021 Fanfare Workshops on the Go Kit
Cardstock: Cranberry and White Daisy
Inks:  Cranberry, Pacifica, Sky, and Sunny Yellow
Embellishments: Z7138C Fanfare Level 2 My Stickease, Z1400 Fanfare Level 2 Assortment Decorative Brads, Z1385 Blue Collection Designer Ribbon, Z1371 Blue Assortment Buttons, and Z1096 Neutral Assortment Embroidery Floss
Tools: "Magic" how-to books, Micro-Tip Scissors, 3-D Foam Tape, Glue Dots, Sponge Daubers

Make It From The Heart Art Gallery

Well, here we are in the middle of March and still getting more snow! Oy! I think I have had enough and am definitely in the mood for spring to arrive. I did get in a little spring shopping for myself on Saturday, so that was a bright spot while the huge wet snowflakes were falling all around. I even chose to ignore the somewhat treacherous roads to get out for that retail therapy. LOL

Here is a pic of the cute new Dansko clogs I treated myself to:

So, in keeping with my yearning for a taste of spring, I wanted to clue you in just in case you haven't found this great little treasure trove of art featuring Close to My Heart scrapbooking, stamping, and cardmaking supplies. You have to take a peek at some of the awesome art you can find on the main Close to My Heart website. There is a page is full of samples of cards, pages, and more featuring the new supplies featured in the Spring & Summer 2011 Idea Book.

Hurry over and take a peek at the "Make It From the Heart" Art Gallery and browse to your heart's content.

If you find anything you just have to have, feel free to shop online at my website: http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com

Have a good Monday, everyone!

Wishing You Lucky Horizons

I've been feeling a bit wistful lately, between our boys who are in transition and/or wishing for change and our girls who keep blossoming and growing as well.  It seems like as a Mom, I really have little to offer them except advice and support as they make their own decisions in life.

This card seemed to fit my mood at the moment, so here is a look at one of my cards I created for my wonderful swap group:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: C1454 Horizon
Paper: X7137B Lucky Level 2 paper packet
Cardstock: Colonial White, Kraft, Outdoor Denim, and Sunset
Inks:  Desert Sand, Olive, and Sunset
Embellishments: Z1377 Kraft Color-Ready Borders
Tools: "Originals" how-to books, Micro-Tip Scissors, Edge Distresser, 3-D Foam Tape, Glue Dots, Sponge Daubers

Let me tell that I was so very excited when our new Idea Book from Close to My Heart for Spring & Summer 2011 was released and I saw that there was Kraft cardstock!!!  Plus, there are these cool Kraft Color-Ready Borders.  Yeah!  Feel free to browse the online Idea Book right from my website at:
http://lovetostamp.myctmh.com and see what else is new and fabulous from Close to My Heart.

Wishing you pleasant journeys, wherever they take you.
