Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring August's Stamp of the Month, which is "A Chocolate Affair," a set of stamps that include scrumptious images and sentiments to brighten any project. If you have come here from Kathleen's blog you are on the right path! When you reach the end of my post you will continue hopping along from the link posted for you.

We have another talented group of over 50 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's Stamp of the Month on their blogs. Hopping along with us is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

This is the gorgeous new Autumn/Winter 2013 Idea Book and it is available online for browsing and shopping as of August 1st at:  http://lovetostamp.ctmh.com

Along with this new Idea Book is our delicious August Stamp of the Month: A Chocolate Affair.  Here is a look at the images that are included with this stamp set:
How SWEET are these, right?!?  This is the first stamp of the month of the in the NEW Autumn/Winter 2013 Idea Book that you can view online on my website, http://lovetostamp.ctmh.com

Be sure to get your August Stamp of the Month at the steal of a deal of FREE (yes, FREE) with every $50 purchase!  What a YUMMY deal!

Now, here is the 5" x 5" card I made:

Project Supplies:
Stamps: S1308 August Stamp of the Month: A Chocolate Affair
Paper:  X7168B Surf's Up paper packet, X7163B Chantilly paper packet, and Dream Pop paper packet (retired)
Cardstock:  Colonial White and Blush
Inks:  Chocolate and Blush
Embellishments:  Z1799 Silver Shimmer Trim, Lagoon Baker's Twine from Z1702 Paradise Assortment, Z1807 Pink Glitter Gems, and Chocolate Baker's Twine from Z1701 Neutral Assortment
Tools: Z2417 Cotton Candy Alcohol Marker, Wishes How-To Cardmaking Book, Circle Punch, Micro-Tip Scissors, 3-D Foam Tape, and Glue Dots

This stamp set was the first item from this brand new Idea Book that I got to play with well before I had new papers in my hands.  So, I challenged myself to think outside my usual box.  In doing that, I chose to mix and match a few different paper packets to come up with my card.  The Chantilly and Surf's Up packets are still available in the new book.  I loved how they worked together on my card!

Now you can hop on over to Joy's blog to see her creation for this hop. Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to see lots of fun artwork for your viewing pleasure.

ProPlayer Meets Crusin' Birthday Card

July is a happy month when we get to celebrate the birthday of our wonderful twin sons who are wonderful young men.

Today I am sharing the card I made for our David:
This is a 5" x 7" card.  I used some argyle print paper from the retired Cruisin' paper pack.  I then added the ProPlayer paper packet that is so perfect for boys, gamers, teenagers, and so much more.  I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the cool Outdoor Denim accent circle just under that gaming controller piece from the awesome C1566 "Tech Speak" stamp set.  David is a gamer and a game designer, so this set is one I have been wishing for.  This card also gives you a look at the great ProPlayer Assortment embellishment set that includes these cool metal-rimmed enamel badge buttons.

Here is a look at the inside of this fun card:

While we didn't get to celebrate in person with our dear twin boys, I think they knew we were sending them much love and happy wishes their way!

Here's wishing you a day full of fun and games too!

A Special Card for My Son: Every Mile a Memory

With the exciting new Autumn/Winter Idea Book & Catalog going live in just a few short days, I have been busy creating with some wonderful new papers, stamps, and beautiful embellishments.  Hurray for the awesome perks of being a consultant with Close To My Heart!

My twin boys just celebrated their birthday.  I tried to make them each a card that I felt matched their own unique and fabulous style.

For our son, Adam, this is what I created:
I wish the photo turned out a little better, but I have been experimenting with a fancier version of my photo editing software. This card was a combination of brand new products and some retired favorites too that fit perfectly with my vision of what I wanted for my son's card.

Our Adam loves just about anything that has a motor.  For as long as I can remember that boy has found great joy in tinkering with and driving most any vehicle, from his first "motorcycle" at the Christmas he was about 2 to his new Honda motorcycle.  LOL  So, for his card I used papers from Cruisin' and also the new ProPlayer pack.  The muscle car image comes from D1564 "Maximum Power" stamp set.  The sentiment, "Every mile a memory" is from the Cruisin' Workshops on the Go stamp set.  I also incorporated the D1514 "Just a Number" birthday-themed stamp set.  Plus, you can see a glimpse of the fun new Lagoon Houndstooth Washi Tape.  I love it!

Here is a peek inside the card:
Happy Birthday to a fantastic young man!

Stay tuned for a look at our son, David's, special card too.

Let's Get Patriotic: Land of the Free and Home of the Brave

There is still time left to take advantage of this special promotion and to help support your military.  The details of this campaign are as follows:

Celebrate military service and promote patriotism with our new patriotic stamp sets—available only from June 1 to July 31, 2013. Three dollars from each B-size My Acrylix® Courage stamp set and $5 from each D-size My Acrylix® Home of the Brave stamp set will be donated to the USO, the leading, most recognized military-support and services organization in the country. Show your support with your own patriotic stamp set!

This promotion runs through the end of July.  Here is a look at the promotional stamp sets:

Here is a card I made with the D1578 "Home of the Brave" stamp set:

I used Kraft cardstock for my top-fold standard card.  I kept my card simple with one layer of Colonial White cardstock.  I stamped the Statue of Liberty in Desert Sand ink.  There are stars stamped with first- and second-generation Honey ink.  The fireworks bursts are stamped using the stamp-rolling technique.  I used Cranberry, Desert Sand, and Outdoor Denim inks.  I also added the sparkle and shine by using Bronze Glitz Glitter Gel.  I did a little edge distressing and also added Desert Sand ink to the edges with my handy dandy sponge dauber.  My finishing touch was the addition of Cranberry Baker's Twine and voila!

Get your stamps soon and contribute to a great cause at the same time!

Just head to my website to get yours ordered:  http://lovetostamp.ctmh.com

Here is the art canvas that I made with my kit for my dear daughter, Rebekah's, recent birthday (please forgive the silly glitch that wants to turn it sideways despite my best efforts):

She really loved it!  I had a lot of fun making something like this just for her.

Then a couple of weeks after that I was inspired to use the leftover supplies from her gift, plus a blank art canvas we had in our art supplies, to create this gift for my husband on our 25th wedding anniversary:
Talk about an amazing value, right?!?
