Sunday Series: Let It Snow Spin Christmas Card

Thank you for visiting for my last installment for this year in my weekly Sunday Series featuring a dose of handmade Christmas card inspiration for you.

My card idea for this week features the White Daisy Circle Spin Cards.  This is a 5" x 7" card with a circle spinning element.  I created mine using the pretty "Yuletide Carol" paper pack with the very adorable "Be Jolly" Hostess Reward exclusive stamp set and also the stamp set from the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshops on the Go Kit:

Since the center circle piece spins, you have two stamping opportunities.  Here is a view of the inside so that you can see that.  I used my Shin Han Touch Twin alcohol marker in the color "Carmine" for adding the touch of red:

Here is a close up picture of the front of my card:

Snowhaven Christmas Card Inspiration: Hark, The Hearld Angels Sing

Welcome to another Snowhaven Christmas card inspiration blog post!  In case you haven't guessed...I really cannot get enough of this wonderful paper!  LOL

This is the last of the four card designs that were included in the card workshop I was happy to purchase from my fellow Close To My Heart consultant, Vicki Wizniuk.  Her style is amazing and I have just had so much fun making the cards featured in this workshop!

These are the cards I created from design 4 of 4:

Here is my favorite of these:
and, here is the close up as well:
For creating these cards, I used the stamp sets, "Sing Glory" (a hostess-only set) and "Merriest Christmas."  For the little holly berries, I used my Shin Han Touch Twin alcohol marker (color: Carmine).

Here is my helper in my photography session for my recent blog posts:

Julie is always willing to be a part of the creative process!

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have found some creative inspiration to get you crafting and in the Christmas spirit!

Sunday Series: More Snowhaven Christmas Cards

The countdown to Christmas continues!  We are down to 11 days until the excitement of Christmas culminates.  Are you ready with all of your special handmade cards yet?  Well, today I continue with sharing more of the cards I crafted from the Snowhaven paper pack.

Today's cards are more of the set of cards I have done using the workshop cutting guide and assembly instructions courtesy of Vicki Wizniuk that I ordered from her blog.  Thanks again, Vicki, for the creative inspiration that I am happy to pass along today!

These are the cards I made based on design 3 out of the 4 included in her workshop:
And here is my favorite from this design:
Here is a close up too:
I cut extra supplies from my leftover papers and decided to see what I could come up with using other Christmas-themed stamp sets that I have.  Here are three of the additional cards that I created and a close up of each:
Don't you just LOVE the scooter in the "Make It Merry" stamp set!?!
This card features the stamp set, "Yuletide Greetings"
I tried to choose stamp sets that would give the chance to play with my Shin Han Touch Twin alcohol markers that we carry through Close To My Heart because they ROCK!
This last version of this card design was created using the lovely "To You and Yours" stamp set that has this wonderful cardinal stamp:
This meant even more coloring fun for me!  Yay!!!

Snowhaven Christmas Card Inspiration: Have a Wonderful Christmas

Today I am featuring another of the cards made from the Snowhaven paper pack from Close To My Heart.  It is so perfect for Christmas cards and for winter-themed papercrafting projects.

In my last post I mentioned how excited I was to get to use the fun Christmas card workshop that I had purchased from my fellow consultant, Vicki Wizniuk.  She has the cutting and assembly directions for sale on her blog at a very reasonable price.  Well worth it!

Here are the cards I put together using her guide for card design 2 of 4:

Here is a shot of my favorite version of card design 2:

and, a close up as well:

In addition to the Snowhaven paper pack, this card using the following stamp sets:  "Life Is Wonderful" (and upcoming Stamp of the Month), "Keyboard Uppercase," and the hostess-only "Sing Glory."  Isn't this an inspired combination?

Sunday Series: Snowhaven Christmas Cards

Welcome!  The countdown to Christmas is on!  It is just 18 days away!  For today's installment in my Sunday Series of Christmas card inspiration I am sharing a set of cards made using the oh so pretty Snowhaven paper pack from Close To My Heart.

I just love the color combination possibilities included in this paper pack and I have been having so much fun playing with it!!!

When I saw the Snowhaven Christmas Card Workshop that fellow consultant, Vicki Wizniuk, created I was so excited!  She is so talented and I really love her style!  She offered up the cutting guide and instructions to this stunning workshop on her blog for a small fee and I snapped it up!  LOL  Thanks, Vicki!

Here is a look at some of the cards I created from her instructions.  I did not have some of the stamp sets that she used so I adapted and tweaked things here and there to create these beauties.  Vicki's kit is designed to let you create 12 cards; 3 each of 4 designs.  I went ahead and cut as many pieces as I could so that I could make even more!  Here are the cards I made for the first design:

Close up of this batch/design:
This is probably my favorite color/paper combo from this design:
And a close up of this one:
I paired up one of the four sentiments from the "Merriest Christmas" stamp set and the tree from the retired stamp set, "Christmas Love."

Stay tuned for more posts featuring the other 3 of the 4 designs of these fun cards and some more variations that I came up with using some of my vast stash of Christmas stamps from Close To My Heart!

Here is the project I created for our hop.  It is a 5" x 7" card.

I used the fun Confetti Wishes paper pack.  It's such a bright, cheery paper pack with an adorable color combination!  It sure speaks to my purple-loving heart!  LOL  I also tried out Close To My Heart's Archival Black stamp pad.  It worked perfectly with this open stamps for coloring my cupcake and stand with my Shin Han Touch Twin alcohol markers.  I had no smudging with my coloring at all!  Hurray!

Here is a peek at all the images available on this great stamp set:

You can get this set of stamps, plus the supplies I used for my card from my website:

Sing Glory Christmas Card

Welcome again to another post in my Sunday Series for more Christmas card inspiration.  I hope this weekend finds you having thoroughly enjoyed some time with family and friends remembering the blessings in your life.

My 5" x 7" card for you today is my interpretation of a card that is featured in the Annual Inspiration Idea Book from Close To My Heart.  I wanted to be able to pair the beautiful Hostess Rewards exclusive stamp set, "Sing Glory" shown on page 7, with the traditional Christmas elegance in the "Yuletide Carol" paper pack, found on page 61.
If you click on the photo to view the card larger you may be able to make out when of the secrets I used in making the gold shimmer layer on my card.  I improvised using the Gold Shimmer Trim from Close To My Heart to create the mat border for below the champagne patterned paper from the "Yuletide Carol" pack.  I really loved the effect!

I did some masking and paper piecing to include the black stamped pieces for the sentiment.  When all is said and done with this year's variety of Christmas card designs that I created, I think that I am most pleased with the elegance and the color combo on this card.

I loved the stark contrast between the White Daisy card base, the Gold Shimmer Trim, the Champagne hued patterned paper, Ruby cardstock, plus the Desert Sand, Ruby and Black inks.  For additional embellishments I used the Gold Bling Gems and some of the Cashmere twine from the Neutral Metallic Assortment Baker's Twine

Thank you for stopping in to this week's Sunday Series Christmas card project!  I appreciate your visit!

Today my heart is Full of Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends and family!  Today is a day for counting our blessings and enjoying time together with our loved ones.

With that in mind, I've been spending some of my creative time in the past week creating a set of Thank You cards using the very pretty Pathfinding Workshops on the Go Cardmaking Kit.

This is a peek at the kit contents:

Pathfinding Workshops on the Go Cardmaking Kit

This is a look at some of the inks I am using while making my cards from the kit:

This kit comes with a pack of 15 card bases and matching envelopes for making standard sized cards.  But, if you add more card bases and envelopes you can get at least 24 cards out of this kit, which is just what I am doing.  So, instead of 5 of each of 3 designs, I am getting 8 of each design!  What a great deal!

Before I leave you to get back to spending time together with our favorite people, I have a few more Thank You cards that I received from another blessing in my creative life: my swap group!  Aren't these just so lovely!

Here's wishing you a day full of thanks!

Creative Blogger Award

Today's post was made possible because of a dear, sweet fellow consultant with Close To My Heart, Paige Dolecki, who has honored me with the nomination for the Creative Blogger Blog Hop Tour.  What an unexpected and delightful surprise!  Thank you, Paige!  One of the things that I really love about Paige's art is how she is not afraid to try new tricks and techniques and she loves sharing how she creates her pieces of art so that you can give it a whirl too!  What a generous, fun spirit she has!

Here is a list of some of the recent Creative Blog Tour alumni.  Such a talented bunch of artists and just plain nice people!  By clicking on the artist's name you will be able to visit their blogs and read more about them and their creative process.

Here are the question each Creative Blogger gets as well my answers:
1.  What are you currently working on?

As part of my work with my Close To My Heart business, I participate in art swaps with other consultants.  This allows us to each make multiples of our creations, swap with others, and the end result is a large selection of art from a variety of artists.  It is a fun way to make the most of our creative time and it allows us to each showcase lots of great samples of stamps, papers, embellishments, etc.

Here is a peek at my swap card projects for the upcoming December Stamp of the Month: Cutie Pie, which will be the subject of some of my future blog posts, including my monthly entry in the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop on November 30th!

2.  How does my work differ from others in its genre?

For me, I like to keep things pretty simple.  I like the "clean and simple" look the best.  While I can appreciate fussy, intricate artwork, it is just not my style.  I also like bold colors and feel like they do some of the creative work for me.  I am also very easily bored, so even once I settle on a general design for something I will tend to make multiples of a project to make the most of my creative time, BUT I will change up the embellishments, the placement of some elements, etc.

You can see evidence of this in the swap cards I just finished for next month.  I couldn't stick to just one choice of cupcake image or to just one color combination for coloring them with my Shin Han Touch Twin markers, nor could I settle for just one type or placement of embellishments for these cards!  LOL

3.  Why do I create what I do?

Well, I love all things Close To My Heart!  All of the coordinating options in papers, stamps, embellishments, etc. really appeals to the huge perfectionist streak in my personality!  However, the bottom line reason for why I create is that it is something that I can do just for myself.  In my real life (LOL), I am a wife, mother to four kids, caretaker to a kitty and a turtle, nurse, nurse educator, Master's student, daughter, and too many other roles.  I think you catch my drift.  Creative time is my sanctuary, my allows me to feel like a kid with a new box of 64 Crayola crayons and a fresh coloring book!  Oh, the possibilities are just endless!

4.  How does my creative process work?

I must admit that I spend an extraordinary amount of time researching inspiration for my creations.  I do so LOVE Pinterest, Facebook groups, fellow bloggers' works, and most of all, Close To My Heart's Idea Books and How To books!  Once I find a pattern that inspires me, I sit at my work space, which is at the center of my home right between our dining room and living room, and make 2, 3, or 4 samples until I am happy with my samples and if I am making cards then, 95% of the time, I create at least 6 of the same project.  This makes me happy to have a stash of handmade cards at the ready when I need one.

Now, I would like to nominate my friend, Wendy Coffman, for the Creative Blogger Award.  She will be sharing her post next Monday, December 1st.  I know you will love visiting her blog and enjoying all of her talented creations!

Thank you for joining us on the tour!  Here's one more thought for you before you go:
